Hot Spiced Apple Cider

Warm, Spiced, Comforting

Hot spiced cider with smoking cinnamon sticks creating aromatic smoke - cozy fall harvest warmth.

Ingredients

  • 8 oz Fresh apple cider
  • 1½ oz Bourbon or spiced rum (optional)
  • 2 Cinnamon sticks
  • 2 Star anise
  • 4 Whole cloves
  • 2 slices Fresh orange
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat apple cider in saucepan over medium heat
  2. 2. Add one cinnamon stick, star anise, cloves, orange slices, and brown sugar
  3. 3. Simmer for 10 minutes to infuse spices
  4. 4. Light second cinnamon stick on fire and let burn for 3 seconds
  5. 5. Blow out and place smoking cinnamon in serving mug
  6. 6. Strain hot cider into mug (add bourbon if desired)
  7. 7. Garnish with orange slice and fresh cinnamon stick
